Accountability isn’t a threat to free speech. If anything, it ensures that Americans can have faith in the information we receive from the institutions that we are supposed to trust.

I used to think this until a newspaper in the Netherlands lied about me. I got a retraction within an hour after paying a local lawyer 300 Euros. In US, good luck. One bad google result and you’ll never get a job. Times changed. Actual malice is outdated in a Google world.
