Re-Judging history through modern lenses is a fools errand. The 1970’s and 1980’s were a very different time in American.

I feel like it's easy to stand up to racism now a days. If people actually had courage they'd stand up to the gangs who are murderers and right here in our back yards but they won't do that. Not until there's a bandwagon they can jump on. Just like the anti-racist bandwagon.

"Gallows humor" in the most literal sense

I remember at a highschool halloween party, guys from the football team did a thing where the black guys dressed as the white guys on the team and vice versa, including white face and black face. I wonder if that would be considered "innocent fun" or too much now
