There's a balance to ensuring Atlas carries the world. To small a burden, and the rest of us starve. To large a burden, and he shrugs... and the rest of us starve.

But it can work society-wide, without socialism. On average, everyone has a brilliant aptitude for something. Where it falls down, of course, is the average person never finds their aptitude. For that, socialism isn't necessarily the answer. The easy answer, sure, but wrong.
