Most likely the brothers flipped. Smollett has lawyered up, hired Michael Cohen's criminal defense attorney. If it IS a hoax, then the brothers committed no crime as all they did was meet Jussie, do some play acting, and fly to Nigeria. The false report is the crime in that case.
