The GOP is simply too afraid of the public backlash that would come with defunding PP. There's too many people in the middle of Pro life vs Pro choice that would be pushed 100% pro choice if it were defunded. Maybe I'm wrong? That's how I see it

This isn’t accurate. Having been involved in protections for the unborn at the state and federal level the GOP is undoubtedly in favor of restrictions on abortion. PP is a battle the GOP cannot win even if they tried. The culture is not there yet to back the end of PP funding

No grants to PP They do not provide comprehensive health care to women. Birth Control easily available.

They also don’t care about border security, immigration reform, limited or constrained government, avoiding foreign entanglements, a balanced budget or anything resembling conservative values. They are basically the weaker side of same coin.

No reason PP was getting money. Trump should let them shut down the government over PP. That said, the GOP did support pro-life judges for the court (at least I hope Kavanaugh is pro-life), is pushing votes on Born Alive Infant Protection, and is more effective on state level.

Your elite actually love abortion because it mostly affects children of the poor and minorities. The elites (who hate paying tax) see these people as future tax burdens to the city/state/country. When they don't pay taxes to solve social problems it harms like property prices.

Republicans do not govern. They have their issues that motivate their base. If they actually do something about it, they lose that tool from the tool box. Trump does the same thing. The fight is more powerful than solving the issue

I’m pretty sure the President and the Republicans (and the Democrats for that matter) can’t just forever not sign a bill because they don’t like what’s in it. Because then they don’t the things they want that’s in it. Things like a government at all for instance.

Trump does care and has at least spoken for the unborn. That is more than anyone else has done.
