Go check the polls. The loudest minority sometimes sounds like the majority, it's not.
Because @AOC is now making bad decisions for the rest of us.
Why do people who don’t work for ICE or Border Patrol think they know everything about immigration law? Why do people who aren’t police officers think they know how a cop should act in all situations?
People in Texas feel the same about people from Missouri or Ohio or other shitholes talking about "the border".
I’ve spent some time in Queens and I could see how even they would be divided. People in Astoria, Q might have a different take on this than the people in Jamaica, Q.
Kinda like people who live in New York like to preach to people who live in border states about what’s best for them?
AOC already explained that they won't need to work under her soylent green plan
I'm just glad Amazon didn't choose Atlanta.
I’m in Manhattan and I own over 1mm sf of office space in Queens. And guess what? It’s 70% vacant because Queens is hurting. Nobody wants to live and work in Queens. Commuting is even worse. Amazon was going to save Queens.
Midtown office rents are $110/sf 88% occupancy Queens office rents are 45$/sf 30% occupancy I own both buildings, same quality. Queens needed amazon way more than amazon needed queens.
Residents are economic illiterates.
Joe and Jane palooka from queens prob aren't getting jobs at Amazon. The construction will bring in work, the rest will probably be imported from out of town--
Construction would be local though, and probably union. There’s plenty of software developers who would move to queens to live and shop. You’d be surprised how many people just hate all change . I’ve got mine, keep everything the same is their attitude
And how many of those workers will be displacing current residents through rent hikes and even more gentrification? Probably quite a few.
New York City has rent control
