What parent would allow this kind of obvious smear to not only be written about their son, but to allow its' publication?

Isn't a magazine for men too broad of a subject to have marketable appeal? Men's interests are seemingly too varied and the vast array of choices in topical scope periodicals target niche markets. Conversely, the magazine offerings that cater to women's interests are far broader.
