There is a huge schism in Judaism and it's going to get worse.

There will be no schism. A schism implies the deterioration of a bond. There is no bond in place between Orthodox and other branches of Judaism.

But there used to be. That's why it's a schism.

There has been no substantive dialogue for 75+ years (100+ for reform); at this point the several sects just act like the others don't exist.

There was a sense of community between Orthodox, Conservative and Reform when I was a kid 50 years ago. As you say, that no longer exists. But in addition to the religious divisions, the political and social divisions seem almost insurmountable. Trump seems to be the litmus test.

Nobody really cares about the religious division. Especially In this age we can see past that. There's a gaping cultural divide between the various sects tho which will never be bridged. Trump is def a good acid test.
