Here is the case for @realDonaldTrump pardoning Ross Ulbricht.
It is highly cynical and also effective.
First, Trump would lose no support by pardoning Ross.
Second, Trump would either GAIN supporters through this action, or he would neutralize attackers.

The same people who targeted
@realDonaldTrump and his son went after Ross Ulbricht. Pardoning Ross is, outside of ending the Mueller investigation, the single most triggering action Trump could take. Pardoning Ross Ulbricht would make the deep state apoplectic.Show this thread -
There is a "justice" case to be made for
@realDonaldTrump pardoning Ross Ulbricht, but that's for the idealists. Raw politics - Trump loses no supporters. - Trump GAINS (or gets fewer hater) from the most talented people in tech / blockchain. - Trump outrages deep state.Show this thread -
Also, Ross Ulbricht's mom is bright, articulate. Pardoning Ross, with his mom present, is GOOD OPTICS. Plus, I know Kanye and Kim are cool and all, but here's the level of support
#FreeRoss has. It's unlike any other movement.https://breakermag.com/lyn-ulbricht-pushed-herself-to-the-brink-of-death-for-freeross-her-last-best-hope-president-trump/ …Show this thread -
Trump has some challenges with women. He pardons Ross, and this becomes a spokeswoman for him. Pardoning Ross is all upside for
@realDonaldTrump with zero loss of support. It would be the smartest investment of his presidency.https://twitter.com/Cernovich/status/1058454002575130624 …

Counter-argument to pardoning Ross Ulbricht: - Ross hired someone to murder a rival (FAKE NEWS, was debunked). - Tough on crime people would be angry. (Sure, but it wouldn't cost Trump votes, and he would more than make up for their anger with newfound supporters.)

Ross Ulbricht is facing an injustice, but this is politics. NO ONE CARES. A pardon (commutation actually, not a full pardon) is the right political move for
@realDonaldTrump. And there is a lot of fake news about Ross. Get the facts here: https://freeross.org/Show this thread -

Kind of a bad look, pardoning a drug trafficker, no? If I were a Republican politician in PA, OH, WI, etc., not sure how I’d feel about that. Also, the smartest people in tech live in CA and NY, which Trump lost by huge margins.

"100% of blockchain people want Ross Ulbricht pardoned." You are trolling, right? Because 100% of any type of people cannot agree on anything, ever. Basically all of your premises are flawed, so your entire argument is flawed. I want to see Ross freed too, but this is ridiculous
