Do you think the Japanese descendants of those put in internment camps should also receive Affirmative Action? It’s a harder ? I think but argument can be made but I also don’t see many Japanese American descendants asking for it either so I’m curious what you think.

Honest question: when do we get to stop paying for the sins of previous generations?

Something conservatives miss is the that slaves themselves spoke of the freedom the nation promised and then once legally freed experienced the limitations of liberty and the free markets in a profoundly unique way. Democracy promises inclusion. The Constitution failed them.
-
The Constitution did not fail them. The Constitution ended the slave trade, prevented the South from using slave population to get more votes in the House, & established the amendment system that would eventually end slavery. Had the Constitution ended slavery, there wouldn't be

a United States of America.

Affirmative action is unconstitutional. Clear violation of Equal protection of the law.

Historically what is a good example of a working government welfare program? In all of history? ... just curious. People who gain a position from favor are rarely treated as equals.

How about we make Islamic nations pay reparations instead, for perpetuating and profiting from the Slave Trade even to this very day? No,
@Cernovich won’t ever go for that.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Decsendants of slaves fought for the freedom and liberty of the country while denied it based on the most unfair and cruel of standards. We ask the individual and the group to forget that memory today for the sake of a romantic idea only relevant to people always free.

This would require too big a bureaucracy to administer . And once established it would never disappear.

It’s worth considering the balance of harm and good created by AA. The primary good is that it ostensibly helps stone for past injustices. The primary bad is that it engenders a perpetual questioning of whether someone truly earned their position or was put there due to AA.
-
The farther we get from slavery and Jim Crow, the more the negative results of AA will outweigh the positive.

I don’t think artificially upgrading someone’s chances of getting in to Berkeley is really going to repair or repay for the history of slavery, Jim Crow, etc.
