It really does hurt Trump that a newspaper that has reported on him positively/respectfully his entire adult life has turned on him since 2015 when he announced. His negative tweets/name-calling to NYT is really him asking why they hate him when he’s just trying to do some good.

Trump takes things very personally. Nothing wrong with that. He’s really a softie underneath that hardass exterior. That’s
true. This pounding on him for nearly four years straight is probably hurting him more than he lets on. And he lets on quite a lot.
