The thing is, no one (regardless of how wealthy they are) owes loyalty to the country. The role of the government is to execute the limited duties imposed upon it in the Constitution, then get out of the way. Hate America? Fine. Obey the law, and make as much $ as you want.

You seem to be under the impression that a tax on rich people has no economic consequences except for them. As if there is no downside to taking money from them and handing it to Nancy Pelosi.

This also ignores history. The income tax was initially only for the super wealthy. Once people accept a wealth tax, there is no end to who will be considered wealthy. People making $40K/year are in the 1% worldwide.
