I legit like black coffee. Is this earnestly something people lie about? It seems in most of my casual conversations, people are quick to point out that drinking black coffee is weird. Definitely not a status symbol.

Black for me

The first time I tried coffee I put a bunch of cream and sugar in it because that's what people do. It was disgusting. It wasn't until years later when I tried it black did I realize how delicious it is.

Actually, I'm a Swede who worked on or around construction when I was younger, and who indulges in snus. I don't have to lie because black and sour is the only way I can taste it any longer.
