I live in the high desert in Southern California. There literally is 10-15 Joshua trees that have fallen over or snapped around my property. People treat the desert like a dump. I'm pretty sure the National Park will recover.

Like the one in the picture which looks like it broke and fell over a while ago. I think the story is largely true but overly dramatized to keep the money flowing in the future.

So what they are saying is this park is too important to be trusted to the federal government. No doubt having them privately run would be too much of a leap, but hand them over to the states, they will take good care of them.

That’s Calif values. Her own people did that. Other Natl parks in neighboring states have virtually zero evidence of shutdown.

Hey take a look at SoAZ Sonoran desert preserves. Destroyed by decades of coyotes, drug packers, and uninvited “guests”. No one bats an eye!

I don’t buy this at all. I’ll let you know first hand next week. I’ll be in 5 national parks in NM and AZ and I’ll get the real story. Just because a chain is cut or a port a potty is full doesn’t mean an eco system is destroyed.

That article is all over the place.
@LAmag makes it sound like a MadMax reunion but then blames a toll on the park on recent spikes in tourism....not the shutdown. Huh? 1 flash flood and no one is the wiserThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
