Thank you for sharing this tragic story which intertwined his life with so much mental agony of which he was suffering from.
I understand. I have lost friends in combat zones but many more during training accidents. Your friend's death was widely known amoung the helo drivers. His loss was a valuable lesson for those that followed. Also, only history will judge its relavance.. He is a Hero in my book.
Few wars are ever "worth it" when you consider the individuals ground up by the process. This is how we don't grow too fond of war.
