Let's talk about something fun I did yesterday, and before we do - If you think I'm "walking it back," nope, you are unhinged dead beats who got triggered, please stay away. Now.... How does it feel having your religion insulted? Why then does MAGA insult many good Muslims?https://twitter.com/Cernovich/status/1089628396957491200 …

If you can't handle someone using the same rhetoric about Christianity as you use about Islam, there's a lesson there. But Islamic terrorism? Sure, it happens. And Christians burned "heretics" at the stake. It's not as if any religion hasn't gone through a sick phase.

Anyhow, I’ll chose my friends over unstable people who get trigged over one tweet. Bye!pic.twitter.com/jnF3F0O1a5

People being really hateful is a problem. You saying more hateful things is not helping.

Just because some people are nasty doesn't mean all of your followers need to have a lecture. You might just be overgeneralizing your followers. You could just as easily say that most people are level headed and have respect for the world's religions

This would be a lie.

So is the contrary. My point exactly. That's the problem with social media, people make too many general statements that get misconstrued in all different ways.

The Bible says "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." That is a lesson that seems to have been forgotten. My prayers are with you and your friend.

The difference is where people have been free to condemn in anger, grief a cult, a group, a individual a religion.Straight away, whilst extremism is was still going on they were told they were Islamaphobic. That decision to create that word was wrong.

Hate is driven by fear with huge variety of reasons. Not all Christians have learned this. Not all who profess to be Christians are that. Sad. Church has work to do.

Yes making a distinction between the actual and the high level abstraction is problematic. The map is not the territory. Yet we have competing actualities. Failure is fatal.

Islamophobia is much more prevalent in the US than homophobia and fear of blacks. Almost completely due to decades of fake news about the Middle East (9/11 most notably)

There are MANY good Muslims here in the USA. We simply wish to hear their voices, in concert with ours, speaking up/out whenever we see extremism and trouble-causers among us. Root them out together for the sake of our children. It gets easier with each syllable.

I agree on one point. We should tolerate religious beliefs and give freedom to them as long as the practice of that religion does no harm by our societal norms. ie abuse or killing in the name of that religion. Society must interfere in those cases. MAGA is not that ever!

Islamophobia in not very real, because fear of Islam is rational and hence not a phobia. Calling it a phobia shifts responsibility on to the scared victim.

@williamlegate@tonyposnanski I think his account has been hacked. The MAGA crowd definitely won't tolerate this. - 1 more reply
