Mike, parish priests come and go. Bishops come and go. A parish does not. It is a community. It is like home for most of us. We go to Church not because we think the priest or bishop have not sinned. We go because of Jesus, to worship and receive him in the Eucharist.

Because people make mistakes. Staying wrong is the greatest mistake.

The bishop should step down as he obviously has no strength of character & is too easily manipulated.

Generally, Catholics are warned against the dangers of Clericalism, or the elevation of the human person over God. We know that our church leaders are just warming a seat for a time. Retirements, reassignments and other changes are a fact of life for us.

Saddest part of the whole debacle for me. Those kids were thrown under the church bus.

As a Catholic is really sad to think your pastor didn't support their flock in a dark moment. But also, as a Catholic, I know that when I go to church is because of the body and blood of Christ.

Look. The Bishop is a man playing by old rules. He is, most likely, not on social media, nor media savvy in general, and has no idea how radical left these people he’s dealing with truly are. Maybe cut him some slack?

These kids needed someone they know and trust to stand for them When It Counted. Not weak sauce intimidated by the mob.

Bishop Roger Foys made a whopper of a mistake that has cost the Sandmann family a great deal. And although it took a visit from the Sandman’s legal team headed by L. Lin Wood to help him see the error of his ways, he did apologize. But is that enough? Maybe not.
