Paid time off is a benefit for employees. Since they’re not employees anymore why should they get benefits? Also, Buzzfeed will never pay out that money. They need it for the lawsuits headed their way because of the Covington affair.

This shouldn’t even be an issue. I thought liberals were pro-worker.

I can’t stand Buzzfeed but they need to pay those former employees what they owe them.

What did the employee handbook - or contract of employment - or whatever it is they call the benefits and compensation package say? How is earned, accrued and vested time off outlined - that’s what was mutually agreed upon and enforceable by law.

Accrued, vested time off is like wages, they need to pay it. What jurisdiction doesn't require them to do so?

It would however be ironic if they pretended to pay them.

Why is this even an issue for these virtuous liberal employers? Could it be that they're hypocrites?
