Hi friends, let's talk about the Buzzfeed story, Covingtongate, and MINDSET. Yes, there's an overlap, and I'll explain in this thread. Summary - The frantic pace of the media is unsustainable, and they are breaking down at a physiological level.https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/understanding-the-stress-response …

When you're under non-stop fight-or-flight stress responses, you do the following - Eat fatty + carbohydrate foods, because INSULIN RESPONSE feels good - Self-medicate with alcohol to "bring you down" - Pop adderall as you're feeling burned out. This body tax must be paid.

Stressed out people make mistakes. People who stay up late make mistakes. People moving at a quick pace make mistakes. Every wonder why salesman speak quickly? It's to rush you into making a decision. Journalists must move quick and compete and it's unrelenting.

Hence when the Covingtongate video landed, journalists were suffering from impaired judgment due to a breakdown of their amygdalas. This is all scientific.https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/amygdala-loss-aversion/ …

Most journalists have never been in peak condition, so they don't realize their bodies are broken down, and because the mind-body dichotomy is false, their own judgment is impaired. See, "Amygdala Activity, Fear, and Anxiety: Modulation by Stress"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2882379/ …

Because I've been in peak condition, I know how a healthy body feels. (This is me at 33 without using any steroids.) And I could feel how the non-stop stress was impacting me. Physiologically, it's more difficult to lift weights when your body is bathing in coritsol.pic.twitter.com/nGJ9FcU2oI

Because I've been super fit, and so-so fit, fat, and everything in between, I knew how media was taking a toll on me. But unlike journalists, I have a background in this stuff. And am able to self-manage.https://www.cernovich.com/how-to-recover-and-relax-reduce-anxiety-sleep-better/ …

Covingtongate-style stories will become MORE common. More Russigate stories will break and be busted as hoaxed. This may seem counter-intuitive. Don't people learn from mistakes? Again, the issue is that the media establishment is exhausted, and now big layoffs are happening.

I am still fresh, unlike my far left wing competitors, because I know how to manage "self-care." I literally wrote the book on mindset, and live the book. In fact, every major blow-up from people on "my side" were in fact mindset failures.https://www.cernovich.com/the-power-of-mindset-review/ …

Speaking of media and stress, have you ever heard the expression, "breathless reporting." Embedded in the language we use are metaphors, what Lakoff called "metaphors we live by." When you feel stressed, control your breathing. Stress goes away.https://www.cernovich.com/wim-hof-breathing-course-review/ …

One mistake people make is that the "de-stress" by vegetating. But as Louie Simmons showed, ACTIVE REST is the far superior recovery. Active rest for stress includes - Wim Hof / ice baths - Far IR saunas - Russian bathshttps://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/31/nyregion/after-124-years-the-russian-and-turkish-baths-are-still-a-hot-spot.html …

You are so right about that. We all need to look at them and all their stories with this mindset
