For example, if someone from The Daily Beast posts fake news, people can politely email their Board. One day when The Daily Beast gets sued, because they are evil (they endorsed death threats against my daughter), emails will turn up in discovery to show pattern of misconduct.

How about having people explain in sworn affidavits why they voted for a candidate and then demonstrate that they would have changed their vote but for the misinformation /libel /defamation.
