Would you kill baby Hitler is literally an essay question in a Philosophy / Ethics exam question. The intellectual elite attack Shairo are showing they’ve never thought deeply about these issues.https://twitter.com/RealSaavedra/status/1086457679130767360 …

In law and philosophy, you discuss hypotheticals to discovery universal guiding principles. Do you kill a baby, who is innocent at the time, do stop further evil? Baby Hitler is one example of problem. What is the limiting principle?

Do you kill Baby Hitler without due process of law? Is there a trial? Do you have the unilateral power to execute? If so, under what other circumstances are you able to be judge, jury, and executioner? I’m no Shapiro fan boy but today media showed they aren’t serious people.

This is really an argument about hindsight being perfect, but its important to understand that its our collective timeline that shapes us as it sees fit. There was probably always going to be a "Hitler" in the late 30s/Germany, killing a baby (of any name) wouldnt stop anything.

The premise requires knowing the future. That in itself invalidates the argument... Shall we kill all babies for potential future crimes? Or shall we execute those with wrong think in case of future crimes? The answer is no. Unless you're insane and believe to know the future

The joke about getting him into Art School is an attempt to assign some reason to what he did. Some wrong or shortcoming he was trying to compensate for. Why the hatred and blame?

The older I grow the more I despise philosophy. The question would need timetravelling machine to have not only evidences but actually know what baby to kill. So that questions won’t help us to decide anything IRL where we’re not omniscient. Mindgame, diversion, waste of time.

Are you meaning that if you go back in time would you be justified killing the baby hitler? If so, in the overall scheme of knowing what we all know now it definitely would have made the world a better place. Although, the person carrying out the act would be subject to laws then

We, as a nation, slaughter babies indiscriminately. They could have been Hilter or Jesus, but they were an inconvenience. Why bother asking the higher questions when we have become so base?

Killing Hitler would be irrelevant - the Wiemar republic- the destruction of German culture/economy/morale - created the monsters. It will happen again. Don't localize the evil in a person, don't allow the conditions that created him occur.
