I worked for Federal District Court and we all agreed if there was a shut down we would still come to work. You do get back pay. If you are luck enough to have a federal job you are lucky enough.

I want to see Federal Land privatized, loaned, patronized by private enterprise in some diverse ways. We need a real ecological reassessment of the need of so many Federal land properties, specially in the West. Start with Yosemite, maybe Google wants to own it.

He'll eventually fold if he can't strike a trade deal with China. If that drags on, farm subsidies need to be paid out and the shutdown prevents it from being disbursed. He can't afford to piss off that base.
