That aside, I am still lost as to what he was trying to say. It looks like he lumped “western civilization” in with “Nazi, white supremacy” No idea what he was getting at

Can’t really say he was taken out of context either because this is completely incoherent no matter the context

I can see him saying, “All those labels get tossed around today,” and then changing his mode of thought halfway through. You’ve interviewed people. People aren’t precise with their words and unless you know how to clarify in real time, a kill quote is made.

I think this is exactly what happened. He switched gears mid-thought/mid-sentence. It happens. 100% of the people who condemned him didn’t bother to find the clarification. He’s been on their hit list forever; what he actually said didn’t matter.
