I did not have kids because I wanted to - Lift weights - Write a great book - Travel - Party I did all of that, and it was great, and don't trust anyone who said it's not. And then I decided to start a family....Which shows me another world.
Without kids, men live cheaply. It really is a joke how cheap it is to be a man. If I wanted to learn a new subject, do nothing but read books all week while working and hitting the gym, could do this, no problem. If boss was a dick, just quit, whatever. Kids change it.
He's not young; he is 47. It is ok to think this... but not ok to write it down for all the world and your kids to see when they grow up one day.

I agree. But he's still in that really hard period—usually from 2 to 5 yrs—and it's heavily influencing his feelings right now, which u can see in his words. After that, it gets increasingly easier. Hang in there. In 10 years u'll b complaining how u don't get enough time w/ them
Totally agree. The age of his kids says it all. It’s a very tough period in his life. I felt the same way and now it’s heaven- I delegate 50% of my house work to them! Yes!!! 
Everyone has those days. Or weeks. Some have longer. I think what’s getting everyone is the blanket statements of regret, the lack of any joy in parenting, but mostly - that he put it on the Internet. We really all need to have more private thoughts.
I preach this all the time. Just because we CAN share everything doesn’t mean we SHOULD. I’m generally a more private person, though. I’m hating on him more for the double space after a period, tbh. That drives me insane. If I could retrain my brain, anyone can.
For men, I think kids are much more fun when they get past toddler phase.

You may be exception to the rule Mike, but for vast majority of men. I feel sorry for the selfishness of that argument and can make a strong case that sounds like choosing the wrong partner. Hard, yes... but by far the most rewarding life experience.

I am married and have two kids. I work hard for my family, and treat my kids with unending affection. But I think the people that are calling this guy trash are such assholes. Raising kids is an enormous sacrifice and I think we should stop expecting people to love every minute
My two girls are my raison d'etre, and I could not imagine life without them. Is parenting hard? Of course. But the rewards far outweigh the cost. He should not be a parent as he is quite obviously way too selfish.
If he was way too selfish, he'd just leave.
Honestly, it sounds like he might. Also, I wouldn't want a parent around who resented their children.
