The conversation is so needed! I call any friend, consistently who are their parents caregivers. I’ve done it. It’s lonely, exhausting, sad, and brief reprieves of laughter. Family is going about their lives; difficult to not get resentful, angry frustrated w siblings

We just went through taking care of my elderly mom, 95 with Alzheimer’s. She passed this past August. Long term care can deplete assets quickly, such as the home they’ve been so careful to pay off to save for their children. My brother moved in to care for her. Very difficult.

Wow, I left my job to be the caregiver of my elderly grandfather... at 39 its tough but it’s part of life & he deserves to be in his own place & not in a nursing home

We are going through it with two separate family members at the same time. Bout to be blended all in the same house!

Was caregiver for my mom for years til her passing at 98. Final year was both rewarding and VERY stressful. Stress will still eat at you after their passing. For me it was a triple bypass 7 months later. But, I’d do it all over again. and think of her daily...

Been there. The toughest for me was my own mental and physical mess knowing the eventual outcome. I was a mess but my mother never knew. Love brings out the best of you no matter what. Best thing I ever did.

I am caring for my mother. I also helped with my dad's care before he passed in 2017.

I went through it. The worst experience imaginable. But, I don't need everybody patting me on the back or giving me pity. It's what you do. Period.
