Parenthood unlocked my mind like nothing else that has ever happened to me. It's an invasion of your comfort level. It's no longer about you but someone else. It has focused me and fatigued me. But you see your children and your second, third, fourth etc wind comes in.

Never ceases to irk me how those without children actually believe they have a clue as to how those with children should be raising them. The instant that child is born, the moment you first lay eyes on them, you have answers to questions you never even knew you had. Or should.

I don't have my own children, yet, but I did help raise my two much younger siblings when I was in my mid teens. I know exactly what you mean.

Travelling back from family Xmas vacation in Thailand my wife stopped to buy some earrings & our 3 yr old son wanted a pair to wear. His ears aren’t pierced so we put the hooks over the top of his earlobes. Travelling from Bangkok to Sydney you should have seen the looks we got.

Best way to carry a child. Pressure on the stomach if gassy, can see everything, and good for your back

OTOH once you're a parent, you feel a lot more confident judging other parents about some of their idiocy.

Yup they make liars out of ya.

Children do what pleases their parents. If you got a thrill throwing her in the air despite the danger, she would ask for more. It is up to the parent to be adult and do what is in the best interest of the child.
