I hope you now are more aware of why people value "political correctness." It's about respecting people who have had words lobbed at them in hate wanting others to be aware of why their words matter.

It’s a challenging situation since the word isn’t an inherent slur and still has different uses. And no one group of ppl will all feel the same about a word that affects them. Not to mention the selective outrage.
