Society will let you “be a man” if you limit that to discussing craft brews and eating bacon. But if you talk about force of will, purpose, living life on your terms...Then you find out right away how limited men are.
And the war on men is cross-racial. Black victimization voices get all the media attention. But there any many black men putting in work to help other black men (and all men) live better lives. The media eraces them.

Crack was seen as a more dangerous drug because it was more prolific in poorer community which will have a bigger negative effect than a drug in richer communities. See discrepancies between meth and coke sentencing (both considered white drugs)

The war on black families started with Johnson's Great Society. They'd lure poor young mothers to get on the dole- social workers going house to house to do this- 18 months later they staged "man in the house" searches- any evidence of a man got benefits cut off.
The young mothers were the children of the black Rosie the Riveters. Their mothers were blue collar industry workers who had not gone home after WW2. They'd gone to night-shift work. Some had worked their way up to daylight. The young women were lured away from employment.
Pres Wilson's father had moved to the slave-holding south before the Civil War. The family owned house slaves. . He had been a child under the care of house slaves. Most southerners loved and respected their nannies and house men. Not Wilson: he wanted them humiliated, broken.
Pres Wilson espoused prog Christianity- a rebuke to his father's faith. He hired and promoted the worst racists to high positions. He barred blacks from federal employment. We had black senators and secretaries of government by 1900. We had black football players, coaches.
The revival of the KKK in the 20s was the worst sort of LARPing- door to door salesmen sold memberships, to coincide with a movie premiere. The original KKK had been former soldiers trying to keep order in a razed over warzone. The new ones were LARPs for a movie; Jedi dreamers
