I was both lucky & cursed my dad's a mechanic so I always had a car, but a beater. One truck had no gas gauge so I had to keep a gas can in the back so I could limp to a station. Another the alternator went out & I had to carry a spare battery so I could get back home.

I could of gone really bad in High School but I made friends with the "cool kids". It was literally a graduating class of 40 who'd gone there their whole life. When I, the loser hispanic kid, sat down with the cool white kids, I literally saw them all lock eyes &....

I could see them think "Ok let's see what happens." They accepted me after a week and I didn't kill myself or worse. 1st 2 years of HS were brutal, last two were great. Sadly that literally used up half my will power & now I have none left.
