Ben Shapiro has tweeted stuff as bad or worse than I have. But that gets buried, because he plays nice. He defends James Gunn while attacking Roseanne (pro-Trump). Shapiro does good work, not hating. But facts don’t care about your feelings.

No conservative has any hope of winning POTUS. Dan Crenshaw is already sucking up to the media while be touting as some hope. He's not. Trump won because he voiced what everyone on the right knew. Media is rigged. Conservatives are destroyed over a joke. Liberals do whatever.
Show this thread -
Bill Clinton may have raped Juanita Broaddrick. Why isn't this covered? The media buried it during his presidency, and he goes on book tours and talks, and NO ONE WILL ASK HIM ABOUT IT. Would any conservative get this free pass? Liberals can do anything. Media protects them.

Conservatives tend to be conformist and mild-mannered. Read Russel Kirk and Edmund Burke. By definition, that's conservatism. But to win, you have to be an expert on messaging and media, which are more liberal / progressive skills. Hence why Trump won. He's "liberal minded."
Show this thread -
Bannon is liberal minded! He's not a conservative. Why did I give BuzzFeed the John Conyers documents? No one asked me this. Because I read in "Devil's Bargain" that Bannon gave documents to the NY Times, because liberals trust those outlets more.https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/why-buzzfeed-teamed-with-a-far-right-figure-to-break-the-john-conyers-scandal/2017/11/21/64688b2a-ceca-11e7-9d3a-bcbe2af58c3a_story.html …

And this brings us to why "liberal" and "conservative" as ideological markers, are failing. The new frontier is populism. STUDENT LOANS. YOUNG PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD TO START FAMILIES OR BUY HOMES. You will have left wing populism / socialism, or right wing populism.
Show this thread -
Trump / Bannon is a populist. Our traditional measure of well-being is GDP, but you can have wages decline while GDP increases. Those who want to win will focus less on GDP and more on MEDIAN WAGES. Can the average man or woman "make it" or even pay their bills?

Boomers have a vested interest in keeping young people in DEBT SLAVERY. (By the way, why do lefties worship professors? They conned you!) Boomers vote / donate to the GOP. Hence why the GOP is going to get smashed unless it starts talking about student loan debt reform.

No one at the Atlantic wants to work for the National Review, but everyone at the National Review would work for The Atlantic. PRESTIGE. The left owns it. People can mock my gorilla stuff all day, but read
@primalpoly and others. Prestige is social status, and status rules.Show this thread -
Now back to the beginning, and why I stopped hating the media. When I got some big stories, reporters from NYT and WaPO and others hit me up hardcore. I learned that INVESTIGATIVE REPORTERS don't give a f-ck. They'll run it. But to general public, "the media" is a monolith.
Show this thread -
Most reporters tend to be liberal, and you'd think STRUCTURAL BIAS would resonate with them. White privilege is a structural bias. Doesn't make everyone racist. Just means white is the norm. In media, liberalism is the norm. Hence a lot of bad behavior gets looked away from.

When a left wing reporter posts something fake, everyone moves on. Remember that "kids in cages" photo? It was from 2014. Multiple mainstream reporters posted it. And the media just sorta shrugged. "Oh it happens." No soul-searching or anything. Conservatives see this daily.
Show this thread -
I got a fact-check "strike" for saying ANTIFA flies communist flags at their rallies. But when a picture of kids in cages from 2014 is posted as if it was current, nothing. No big questions like, "How did so many get it wrong." Media does a collective shrug and moves on.

I wrote a lot about these build-in structural biases in Hoaxed. Stuff that would get a conservative run over the coals gets overlooked, gets a pass. And I don't think it's malicious (usually). It's a built in structural bias.https://www.amazon.com/Hoaxed-Deadly-Consequences-Fake-News-ebook/dp/B07FT1GL51/ …

Good faith is ASSUMED if you're on the left. Bad faith is ASSUMED if you're on the right. That's how media sees the world. I learned that it's not usually malicious. It really isn't. I've met incredible reporters and 90% are decent people. Their filter is what's wrong.

Here's an example of media bias in action. A verified Twitter account sends his followers to threaten to rape my kid. He's under criminal investigation. This would be a MAJOR story if a conservative did this to a liberal. Because it's me? Silence.https://www.cernovich.com/stalkers-with-verified-twitter-accounts-are-harassing-children/ …

There is a lot of harassment and absolutely indefensible stuff from the left. But 99% of reporters look the other way. And that gets everyone to dig it, and makes everyone get meaner. This is unhealthy and unsustainable.

Now let's talk the media monolith and what it's not. Who does real journalism? Yes, the NY Times. BUT. What doesn't happen? Major stories like this from NY Times hit, which harm the left, and don't become part of the 24/7 cable news cycle.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/22/us/politics/facebook-suspends-alabama-elections.html …

Silicon Valley billionaire Reid Hoffman funded a disinformation campaign to interfere with the AL Senate race. NY Times broke story. But nothing from CNN / MSNBC or anyone else. Because this story hurts the left, it doesn't get saturation coverage.https://www.bizjournals.com/sanjose/news/2018/12/24/facebook-suspends-5-accounts-tied-to-reid-hoffman.html …

Could you imagine the BREATHLESS coverage if Peter Thiel had done what Reid Hoffman did? Reid funded disinformation campaign in a Senate election. Brian Stelter and Maddow would be having panic attacks. Because Hoffman is a leftie, story is ignored.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/19/us/alabama-senate-roy-jones-russia.html …

Cable News is fake news. The NY Times broke the Clinton email server story. They do good work. HOWEVER. Real journalists get tossed in with the fake ones because journalists don't self-police. They look the other way when lies about MAGA people are told. Which means...
Show this thread -
Journalists have turned this stuff into tribalism. When fellow reporters smear or lie or even fake news, they look away. Which means for the sake of survival, Trump and MAGA must call all journalism fake news. Simple game theory. It's not sustainable, and ends badly for all.

Here's an example of media bias in action. Scott Pelly is a good guy, but he took the Clinton campaign at its word. And COULD NOT explain why anyone should do this. As if Clinton were more trustworthy than Trump. Leading to this moment.https://twitter.com/60Minutes/status/846150373551288320 …

Americans have a fundamental sense of fair play, and it's clear to all that the rules are different for conservatives. And it doesn't have to be this way! In fact, "the market" is moving away from the cable news model. Enter podcasts.
Show this thread -
Who controls the media? Advertisers. Right now the ad money goes to cable news, which is inherently biased, but podcasts and long form conversation are in the rise. But the market shows the majority of people want long-form, unedited content.
Show this thread -
Media is inherently self-referential (media-on-media stories), and thus they are missing a trend. People on left like Dave Rubin, JP, Weinstein are drawing thousands of people REGULARLY, and Moly doing same on the right. How many CNN town halls would attract those crowds?
Show this thread -
Short form, edited content gets well-funded because advertisers haven't made the switch. But the real, organic demand is for long-form video. "Show us both sides, show us the facts, let us decide." Yet you don't see podcasts reported on much, other than when attacked.
Show this thread -
We are still in transition phase. Cable subscriptions subsidize networks, but when users - especially under 40 - have a choice, they choose podcasts. This isn't a trend. Human connection is universal. And legacy media, especially with the built-in biases, won't influence 20204.
Show this thread -
The REAL trends, not outrage stuff on TV, is trending in the right direction - Human connection, long form content, which is both critical, empathetic. In the short term, however, it gets worse - Livelihoods destroyed - Shootings + bombings We are in major transition phase.

Sarkon of Akkad has a family. His livelihood was destroyed. The far left is gleeful. They don't have any sense that he is a human being. This is a dangerous mindset for them, and also draws a counter-reaction.
