I became sort of a nihilist once the financial crash happened. Obama and McCain both sided with the banks. I realized everything was a lie. My reaction to the truth took me on a self-indulgent, trolling phase in my writing.

I watched friends go bankrupt. They bought houses because “housing always goes up.” Paul Krugman and the other frauds kept their jobs. That’s when I began to hate the media. Hate isn’t an understatement. I began to see the media as evil. (My views had softened...some.)

To me, this was all fun. Now back to the media. I learned there’s an entire subculture or “reporters” who treat satire as literal. That’s when I learned The Game. Which goes as follows... If a conservative makes a joke, he meant it. Then I applied these rules to liberals.

I started applying the same rules gutter blogs like HuffPo and Gawker and The Daily Beast apply to conservatives...to the left. And the media freaked the f-ck out. No one had ever done this, flipped their script on them. They didn’t know what to do. (They still don’t.)

And then the media hit pieces against me intensified, and got to the point of being ridiculous. I’m a nice guy, live a family life, and the hit pieces simply didn’t comport with reality. And now people don’t believe anything about me, because it’s all so over the top.

I wound find horrible tweets from left wing people, even reporters. NO ONE HAD EVER LOOKED FOR THESE! Conservatives know you walk on egg shells. Liberals had never been scrutinized the way conservatives are.

I beat the entire media establishment at its own game. And now it’s NORMAL for conservatives to tweet mine liberals. But why did it take me to show the way? Because deep down conservatives want to be invited to CNN and write for The Atlantic. I never had those aspirations.

I was immune to the suble social pressures conservatives face, because I never set out to be a journalist. I wrote about stuff that interested me, and broke some big stories. Yet my journey showed me the weakness of conservatives. They CRAVE left wing approval.

I never wanted good press! Or any press at all. But I learned that if you want good press as a conservative, you can’t hit the left hard. You won’t get on TV. You won’t get NY Times op-Eds. That’s why the left is winning. The right plays by the left’s rules.

The media coverage of me is objectively dishonest. Have I trolled? Sure. They remind us of this. But they never mention my mindset book, which sold over 100,000 copies. That’s how The Game works. If you’re effective, they define you by a low point. Forever.

Ben Shapiro has tweeted stuff as bad or worse than I have. But that gets buried, because he plays nice. He defends James Gunn while attacking Roseanne (pro-Trump). Shapiro does good work, not hating. But facts don’t care about your feelings.

By any objective measure, NO ONE on the right in the past 2 years have broken the stories I have - Susan Rice unmasking - Security clearance slow walking + Trump’s dysfunctional personnel - John Conyers A member of Congress resigned cuz of me. How often is that mentioned?

And all of the above is a reason why I moved on from Trump. He did not keep his campaign promises. I get to say this because I was - by an objective measure - instrumental in getting votes. And when MAGA people yell, I don’t care. This was a small part of my life.

As a perennial outsider, I see the world differently. I never sought donor dollars. Bullshit like "FINISH THE WALL" doesn't impress me, and there are no structural biases built in to make me pretend to believe it.
