The results of this survey surprised me (only 1-in-3 of Cernovich read Bible) because 80% of you oppose abortion unless in emergency cases. Is there a secular case against abortion, and if so, what is it?https://twitter.com/Cernovich/status/1074514714913165312 …

Interesting comments from people who are anti-abortion for secular reasons.pic.twitter.com/LPMkuEXOGe

Because life begins with conception and implantation / nidation. Ethics may be linked to religion or not, sometimes correlated but independent. The same for empathy and the instinct to protect a helpless being.
-
BTW, I am an "atheist," who values and fights for the legacy of Judeo-Christian-Western civilization, the most advanced society ever created and that allows me to say it freely without fear.
-
I have used the quotation marks because I do not appreciate definitions that deny another concept, the prefix "a" makes it seem a contrary and negationist position, when in reality it is only a skeptical and open stance.

My mom wanted to abort me, she doesn't know that I know because my sister told me about it long ago. I'm alive because my grandma basically screamed or "convinced" her not to get one. All the good things I did for a lot of people (mostly money but other stuff) wouldn't of happene

happened if people killed my ass. There's always this obsession with "choice" but what about my fucking choice to live? Of course you won't hear from the victims since they're all dead by default. Nothing religious, just survival. My survival. I was lucky. Others, not so much.

I saved my best friends life when I chose life at 19. Not and never was for religious reasons. Had I chosen to terminate like I was pressured to do at the time, I would have never experienced the rewards of having a mother/daughter relationship that I so treasure today.
-
I also believe that there is a very high % of women that choose to terminate, develop severe depression due to choices made that were so accepted by the public. You may have the right to choose, but remember it’s your mental health in the end. Sad for the young and ignorant.

I'm atheist against abortion, other than emergencies or rape. Abortion is just another way to remove the consequences of an act you consented too. Currently it seems as though we want to remove all consequences from poor decisions.

Agnostic. You cannot be pro-choice and also be against eugenics. Inconvenience is not a valid ethical reason to destroy a human. If it is, then all human life has no value.

I would think the secular case is the same as religious case for the most part? Life can begin at conception for both types of people.

I was pro-choice until the seeing the first ultrasound with my first child. At 10 weeks, I saw a baby, however small, he was a baby. It immediately changed my view on abortion. he's 6 now, and I still have that ultrasound print.

At some point, aside from life of the mother abortion is always unethical. If you can't say for sure exactly when then proceed with caution with human life. I oppose the death penalty because too many innocent but not guilty convictions occur too.

I don't believe in god, but I do believe that humans have potential to be creative and heroic, even in the worst of circumstances.Aborting a life, u have no value for human possibility. Its unethical and selfish. wrong.

Not religious When voluntary sex & no contraceptive , you engage in a contract w/ the fetus. Though the fetus lacks consciousness, we as a society should step into guard the fetus. Cant euthanize without the dying person's consent.

Yes; no longer a believer, but the moment a fetus becomes self-reflective (as indicated by thumb sucking and dreams) it is human and therefore protected as such.
