        The only benefit is for audiophiles, who can take a pure digital data stream into an outboard digital to analog converter (DAC). Sounds awesome. That’s only a percent of us that care, though.

        Apple has flaws but if you use Android... Google owns your soul. I’ll stick with iPhone and at least some semblance of privacy measures.

        5S still has jacks and both fits and doesn’t bend like the iPhone minis. iPad mini is convenient when you need screen size.

        All headphone speakers are analog devices. If you put high quality digital to analog conversion in the phone a standard headphone jack is all you need.

        Sadly apple wants to move the dac to the headphones so they can charge more. LG is the only phone maker i know of with a high quality dac for their headphone jack.
