Trump can’t let anything go. I grew up in NY watching him squabble w Koch, Helmsley, NBC over his 30 Rock obsession, etc. He never should have fired Comey. Trump opened the can of worms and has only himself to blame. He can’t stop thinking about things and has to have his way.
It’s far too late to fire Mueller. This could have been prevented January 20, 2017 with blanket pardons including for Hillary Clinton. The walls are sealed. Now they start closing in. But only Trump is Trump, and he has a way of making a comeback.

Looks like the only shot is impeachment based on a campaign finance issue. Would 100% of Dems and 50 Republicans agree that a weak campaign finance case constitutes "high crimes and misdemeanors"? Doesn't seem likely.
