He’s echoing what I hear from other conservatives. Defeat and giving up on Trump and his policies. Putting the character aside, Trump has and continues to push policies that benefit blue collar/middle class. If the elite conservative opinion makers give up on those things.....

That is very concerning. The GOP and conservatives need to develop some resolve. Don’t at your own peril. This country needs a conservative, non corporatist alternative to the socialists

I’m not sure I’m getting your point correctly, so I apologize if I missed it. I think conservative ideas and the principles our country was founded on appeal to a broad spectrum of people. I think the concern with immigration is people who come here not assimilating to have those

Carlson is right, Trump only cares about stock market , other trivial things like Tech company adopting Orwellian policy, voting frauds .... are not on his radar.

big warning. if the Republicans not consider the crisis of democracy system as a big issue, US will go to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s direction. US will be over. immigration is the key point. go back to limited government which has to serve to own citizens. impossible to world

i i know it hasnt happened since it happened in back to back elections in 76 and 80, but do you think a republican can seriously challenge current president trump in a primary?
-
Hell and no.
-
If Trump gets some really bad news from Mueller, it's possible that Flake or Kasich could challenge him. GOP donors only care about enacting right-wing economic policies. The rest of the stuff (immigration, social issues, nationalism) are just a mirage for the angry mob.
-
The people who actually pay the bills for the GOP want lower taxes, decreased public spending, fewer regulations and no labour laws, because those things will all make them more money. They couldn't care less if Pablo is picking oranges or Kaepernick takes a knee.
-
And they hate Trump's trade policies. Hate them. The donors might live in the US but their companies are citizens of the world. So if Trump loses a significant portion of his base the donors will dump him and try with a Flake or a Sasse or a Kasich.

I like how it went into saying Fox News is most aligned with the administration. That's only incomparison to MSNBC and CNN. They aren't the weekly standard, but over half the analysts on that channel don't like Trump. It's even worse if you throw in Fox Business.

Running for president wasn’t really Trump’s plan, he was just a critic of the policies and direction those governing were taking the country, like many of us. Is anyone with the knowledge of how to govern and lead ready and able to step into that role?
