And then there's the one where the caller first says "Hello, granma.", and then tries to get some elderly, befuddled woman to send money to someone she thinks is her grandson. Obviously aimed at the most vulnerable.

So many that’s all the police would be doing. Trust me. Don’t answer a phone call if you don’t know the number. That’s what voicemail is for. The IRS doesn’t call it sends letters. This is one of many national and international scams.
