Haste breakpoints are gone because the duration of a DoT no longer changes with haste. Instead, partial ticks at the end.

@Celestalon Ok, I think I'm using a different definition of the term. Thanks for the answer.

@Celestalon Does this create DoT overlap? i.e Refresh as early as possible so that you benefit the most from no loss at Xsec/X% ?

  3. Joe Shanahan ‏@_JoeShanahan 26 Nov 2013

@Celestalon or does refreshing add to duration?

Expand Collapse 0 replies 0 retweets 0 favorites
  4. Celestalon ‏@Celestalon 26 Nov 2013

@_JoeShanahan No. Example may help: DoT lasts 10sec. You cast at t=0. If you refresh at t=8 or t=9 or t=10, it ends at t=20. See [Pandemic].

@Celestalon With the removal of reforging, that definitely makes sense given how much emphasis is placed on breakpoints.

  6. Daikatsu ‏@DaikatsuCTR 26 Nov 2013

@Celestalon So it’s still possible to have new ticks with enough haste, but between adding new ticks the gain is more linear?

Expand Collapse 0 replies 0 retweets 0 favorites
  7. Celestalon ‏@Celestalon 26 Nov 2013

@DaikatsuCTR Completely linear, not just 'more' linear. So 27.83% haste = 27.834% more ticks. (Number is meaningless, just made it up.)

@Celestalon Got it. Makes sense now. It doesn’t get change haste/tick interaction, but makes haste worthwhile between adding ticks. Yay!

@Celestalon Aaah got it, thanks. Sounds good. Assuming this goes live, will we know what X is?

  10. Celestalon ‏@Celestalon 26 Nov 2013

@_JoeShanahan Of course. I'm just saying 'X' right now because we haven't decided what X is (or whether it's in sec or %).

@Celestalon Is Ignite changing with these new dot mechanics? (I know it doesn't currently work like a traditional dot.)

@Celestalon Would this apply to things like Healing Stream Totem and Healing Rain also (assuming some solution to Conductivity)?

  14. Celestalon ‏@Celestalon 26 Nov 2013

@bjvandrews Healing Rain, yes. Healing Stream may be a little more complicated, due to the totem involved, but we're going to try.

@Celestalon @Sonrilol Sacred Shield may still have some weirdness/break points depending on how you handle that last tick.

@TheckPhD @Celestalon @Sonrilol Seems like it only would have that behavior if you don't refresh early enough to take advantage of Pandemic.
