I'm confused. So are we critics still paid off Marvel shills or have the Iron Fist reviews proven us to be comic book hating hacks?

Seriously, you have to love film to be someone who writes about it professionally, only to be barraged with attacks by sexist jerks.
Every time I hear the "We did it for the fans, not critics" line, I know the false gap between us gets wider & harder for us to work with.

Never mind the snooty hateful critic image said falsehood relies on, it also exacerbates some already toxic tensions in geek communities.

A quick reminder that most critics are also creators: They write novels, make movies, record podcasts, & so on. It's not an either/or case.
