I can't speak for every former Potter fan but as a cis woman whose life was hugely shaped by those books, I have real trouble revisiting them now and not feeling like those formative memories now have a giant asterisk next to them.

It’s perfectly understandable how many fans feel about the HP now because of her. For me it’s hard to say it taints my memory of HP a world that still incites passion and awe within me when I revisit the book end movies but it does suck knowing an authors of one of my favorite

Yeah - I guess he is a lot better placed to speak to the fans as he likely experiences their passion a lot more in his daily life being out in the world encountering them, instead of hiding in a castle and Tweeting hateful things.

My problem is that I saw all the movies and have a box set of the books but have only read the first one. I keep putting off reading the rest because of this behaviour and picking up other books instead. Maybe someday I’ll get to them!
