Here's how we know: 1) Trump campaigned on the promise that he would appoint justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade. 2) Kavanaugh has ruled to prevent a young woman in government custody from exercising her right to abortion—and to allow bosses to refuse to cover birth control.

What we've seen of Kavanaugh's past speeches and writing is also disturbing. In a speech to the American Enterprise Institute just last year (!), he celebrated the dissenting opinion in Roe v. Wade.pic.twitter.com/50QOSpL4PN

Kavanaugh lamented that Justice Rehnquist had failed to convince his fellow Supreme Court justices *not* to rule in favor of a constitutional right to safe and legal abortion.pic.twitter.com/sCRuBBnyk1

That's not all. He also praised Rehnquist's criticism of Miranda rights—AKA law enforcement's responsibility to inform you of your rights as a U.S. citizen. ("You have the right to remain silent ... you have the right to an attorney ...")pic.twitter.com/2u2ShK9b80

In this speech from 2017, Kavanaugh made it clear where he stands when it comes to having a strict wall of separation between church and state.pic.twitter.com/FRZ7EjzEEk

These are just a few of the many reasons why everyone who cares about women's rights, civil rights, worker's rights, and more should be doing everything we can to

Mainly, A vote to confirm is s vote to protect trump from criminal liability. Trump doesn't care whether woman can have abortions. He used to be pro choice. It's about whether *his* justice siren will protect him. The rest is icing for his base

Only in the US is abortion such a contentious debate. People are always going to fuck and people are always going to have abortions. Can it not be treated as a scientific problem rather than a moral issue? Surely the debate should be on how to keep abortion safe?
-
100% agree, but it seems in THIS country we care about fetuses and NOT actual children.

Not actual children or their mothers.

Abortion is murder. Have any of you that has had or contemplating an abortion ever thought of maybe keeping your legs closed until you know more about responsibilities and birth control?
-
The resulting pregnancy then ruptured my fallopian tube, causing internal hemorrhaging and I almost died. I had no symptoms. The only reason I found out that my abdomen was full of blood was going in for an abortion. Had i not, i would have become septic and died.
-
A prenatal visit would also have found this out. Your narrow view is very telling.

No one has a Right to murder babies

And no one is forcing you to have one.

Many States have laws in place that the minute when Roe v. Wade is overturned, abortion becomes illegal there. And poor women will die.
-
Not if the don’t choose to break the law. If they choose to do so, meh. Good riddance.
-
FYI- abortion is not a form of birth control and the population hit is black communityhttps://twitter.com/RealCandaceO/status/1035284257923629061 …

Only an ignorant fool believes that abortion is birth control. It is, however, women's health care.
