Um...TPUSA vs. Groypers. The campaigns to get Shep Smith and Chris Wallace fired. Tomi Lahren. David Frum and AEI. Death threats against David French/Ben Shapiro/Rick Wilson/Charlie Sykes/etc. Endless cries of RINO and cuck for being insufficiently pure. The list goes on and on.

Most of what you're describing is directed precisely at "political enemies," i.e. anti-Trump conservatives. The Groypers are an extreme group with no influence. Lahren easily survived a "cancellation" attempt over abortion rights.

Somehow, assassinating political enemies and separating children from parents with no plans to reunite ... these are much bigger concerns than a book tour being cancelled.

I generally agree. But given what I know about folks on the right doing what they can to purge dissident voices, I don't have as much confidence that this is because of some noble principle and not simply incompetence or weakness.

Sure. I do think there's an essential difference though. Mainstream right-wing political culture right now is defined by allegiance to Trump. Anyone "anti" is "the enemy." The purity policing of allies isn't there.

Doesn't the Trump base drive out anyone who doesn't toe the Trump line? E.g. John Bolton, tool of the left.
