This figure relates to services not patients. In other words, it's pretty much meaningless.

People are not falling for this Govt’s spin: they are living with the out of pocket costs, as evidenced by the recent 4 Corners report.

And gap payments stop people accessing care. I wrote something about the evidence on this a while back, when the idea of charging everyone a gap was floated: https://theconversation.com/six-dollar-co-payment-to-see-a-doctor-a-gps-view-21915 … That idea was quashed, but gap payments persist and keep rising for necessary PBS medicines.

Impossible when 100% of doctors in my town don't bulk bill and only one in next town up the hwy and only if you have a health care card.
