I'm angry. I'm angry at every cis person alive who contributed to the culture that stole my childhood. Because of you, I never got to be a girl. I never got to be a young woman. You stole a HUGE chunk of my life that I will NEVER get back. And STILL the transphobia continues.
This morning I wept. I lay and bed and cried over this, thinking about how different my life could have been if you cis people hadn't been so fucking awful. If I'd grown up in an era where it was OK to be trans, and to get the correct treatments when I was young.
Instead there are still millions of trans kids out there, having their best years STOLEN from them by the prevailing culture of transphobia. And the kids that DO get to transition young are just subjected to endless trauma and violence at cis hands.
I'm really angry and I'm really upset. It didn't have to be this way. WHY did you people have to make it so hard? Why are you still trying to stand on us, keep us down, make us suffer? WHY???
I kinda get this. I think a lot about all the time I lost due to the trauma I was put through by a severely abusive parent. So many years wasted by hiding in my room, unable to deal with people. I know that's not quite the same thing, though.
