Today I am sick to my stomach. During the pandemic I wrote five letters just like this one to the then Health and Education secretaries asking them to save lives. I didn’t receive one reply. Now I see what they were really thinking…

This report is damning on thirteen years of failed Conservative energy policies. Only Labour has a plan to cut energy bills for good, with our mission to make Britain a clean energy superpower by 2030. We will cut bills and reindustrialise Britain.

As the UK moves towards net zero, our demand for electricity will grow by 60% over the next 25 years. Despite this, @energygovuk hasn’t finalised their plan to deliver a zero-fossil fuel power supply by 2035. You can find out more in our report 👉 orlo.uk/shB3R

It was a pleasure to join this lovely bunch of Labour women at #LWNpoliticalschool. Feeling energised, inspired and a little more resilient as a woman in politics... Thank you 🌹

That’s a wrap on another brilliant #LWNpoliticalschool! Some talented and passionate @UKLabour sisters leave walking a little taller and ready to take on the world. It’s been great work with them over a weekend. Lots of leaders and winners here. Good luck, sisters! 🌹

Funny that Nick lives in Bawtry; the only village in Doncaster where you don’t need to walk more than 15 minutes to access such lovely and wide-ranging amenities.

We often talk about the “Me Too era” as if something changed… well the stats are clear: little has. Excellent analysis from . As Katie argues, we still live in a society that protects perpetrators over victims and somehow that has to change.

For @Independent I wrote about new @Channel4 drama #Consent, being a teenager girl before #MeToo, and why claims that the MeToo movement has gone too far are not only inaccurate, but incredibly dangerous. independent.co.uk/voices/metoo-r

Funding for Southwark from the Leveling Up Fund today? £0 But it's not the money we didn't get today that we should be angry about. It's the billions we've lost due to cuts to funding for our local services by Conservative (and Lib Dem) governments over the last decade

This bill will be pushed through under the guise of “public safety”, but it’s nothing short of a draconian attempt to limit union power at a time when the nation is divided over strike action. They know what they’re doing.
