    Hwy 38 (South ofI-94.) It is hard to make out the image in front of the squad car but it is a Buffalo ambulance. In front of the ambulance is a snow plow leading the way towards Alice, ND. (Disclaimer: there is a secondary deputy in the vehicle who took the photo.)

    This is a dangerous storm and Deputies have responded to numerous stranded vehicles. We will be responding to those who find themselves in dangerous situations, but are asking for the publics cooperation in adhering to the no travel advised for the safety to all involved.

    We strongly urging drivers to stay off the rural highways with no travel advised. Conditions will become extremely difficult as it becomes dark. County Road Plows have been pulled from the roadways & will not begin snow removal until conditions improve.

    County Rd 8 East of Cass 15. As you can see it is EXTREMLEY difficult to see the road is with the snow, snow drifts & almost zero visibility. Please make sure if you travel your survival kit is stocked in the event you may be forced to remain in your vehicle until help arrives.

    This is a photo on I-94 by Mapleton & I-94 by Casselton. The interstate still remains CLOSED until further notice. High winds are creating significant problems on the roadways. Please stay off CLOSED ROADS so that crews are able to clear drifts & stuck vehicles from the roadway.

    This is a video that was provided by a deputy that is staged near Page, ND which shows the current road conditions. We have resources staged throughout the county to respond to emergent calls for service if needed, but again are advising no travel.

    We are urging drivers to stay off the rural roadways with no travel advised. Many Cass County roadways have become impassable with reports of slushy/snow covered roads & visibility reduced a ½ mile or less at times. Authorities will have resources staged throughout the county.

    Thursday, March 14th, 2019, due to inclement weather all 24/7 participants are excused from 24/7 Program testing. Once Cass County Government has resumed normal business day operations you are to resume your scheduled 24/7 Program testing.

    Today kicks off the first day of the Teddy Bear Posse! We are so thankful for the community and local businesses that make the Teddy Bear Posse campaign possible. Local first responders hand out the teddy bears to comfort children involved in traumatic situations.

    We are urging drivers to stay off the rural roadways. As the winter storm progressed throughout the day, Cass County roadways have neared impassable at this point. Cass County authorities will have resources staged throughout the county to respond to emergent calls for service.
