Sportsmen’s Lodge, we’d crash their pool when I 1st came out to LA. Classic.
I love that place! I practically lived there when I toured with bands as you can park tour buses. It was a home away from home. That pool is so amazing, the hot tub always scared me though ;)

I lived in Studio City for a few years and the entire area around Ventura Bl is unrecognizable. There used to be a great record store near on the south side of Ventura Blvd just west of Laurel Canyon. They had free copies of the LA Weekly.
That was the spot for Bar Mitzvah receptions in the ‘70s. My brother and too many others to recall.
Half of it is gone now. Turning into more shopping and restaurants. Just what the corner of Ventura and Coldwater needed to make it worse.
Sadly, it's closed & being redeveloped as a shopping center. They took out the ballroom. It was the home of LA salsa dancing for 30+ years. Every Friday night you could hear some of the best salsa bands in the country & dance till you dropped. Don't know if the pool will survive.
Hotel hot tubs are petri dishes
