Because Melania lives with her parents and they speak Slovenian around the house, as does her son. She only speaks ‘English’ when fulfilling contractual obligations as ‘Flotus’ otherwise she lives a separate life. Was the same in ‘Apprentice’ days as well. @FLOTUS

All of my grandparents immigrated from what is now Slovenia at the turn of the century. They and both of my parents spoke a dialect of Slovenian at home. My grandparents had less of an accent then she has and my parents and siblings never had one at all.
