Oh he has dementia, I’ve worked with plenty of those patients and he is a classic. Just compare his speech in interviews from 10-15 years ago. He is losing his vocabulary and ability to communicate effectively.

I don't wish FTD on anyone. I didn't buy into the idea of dementia for a long time. Then, I couldn't ignore the signs any longer. Dude's had a lifetime of NPD, drugs, bad eating, no exercise, and unprotected sex. Plus his dad had Alzheimer's. His brain's rotting. JMO
