I’m sorry. That is very true. I know that there are phone meetings, hopefully you have a good circle of sober friends or a sponsor that you can reach out to. I’ve made my own drinking jokes during this time and that’s insensitive. I’m sorry
I wasn’t speaking for myself, but for the still suffering alcoholics and addicts that must be in hell. It’s hard for folks like me and I am very involved and have a wide networks of support in NYC. There’s newcomers that can no longer walk into ‘our rooms’ for them I pray.

I have a child in early recovery in another state. Got hired but never got to work. I’ve been helping with rent and food money, which I typically stay out of. Some don’t have any resources and are at risk for being asked to leave sober living. It’s tough out there.
A lot of my meetings have gone online, but the inequity is real. If you don't have internet, where do you go?
I can't imagine how hard it must be for people in the early days of sobriety who need a meeting, or a hug, or a walk with a friend. Hoping all who need serenity can find it today.
Understood, but seriously, everybody is looking for humour wherever they can find it, not all humour is going to appeal to everyone, we’re all going to have to manage ourselves, no restrictions on humour providers, that is an essential service.
Advocates for seniors and disabled persons should jump on this. Now people can have more appreciation for our struggle. Isolation is our daily life.
