That’s from his drug addiction and a related medical condition NOT dementia. @TomJChicago doesn’t really know what he’s talking about with all due respect. Tom is also offering Trump an alibi when it all comes crashing down. He can claim dementia. Trump knows what he is doing.

Based on family history and age alone, Trump's odds of having Alzheimer's right now are over 50%. Given some of his episodes, it wouldn't surprise me at all. But he can have dementia and still have enough marbles that he knows what he's doing, it's a decades-long illness.
He’s in cognitive decline and his functional level wasn’t normal at the start of his presidency, but is much worse now. The etiology (drugs, dementia, etc.) is likely multifactorial. It’s also true that he will feign ignorance and foster chaos to cover his corruption.
Once again, my mind qoes to the question of what other president has ever constantly humiliated & belittled others? I'll never understand it.

I tend to think it may be both. And any dementia he may have will be greatly exacerbated by the continuous drug use. But yeah, he does know exactly what hes doing. He is literally evil.
